H-Lounge now makes it easy for you to officially create, promote and run your own music competitions on H-Lounge.

Be the host, make the rules, select the judges and give away useless junk!

Host a competition with a Loungecake prize and you get 10% of the prize for yourself (as long as there is at least one entry in the competition).

We at H-Lounge have created a platform to make it easy for users to create, promote, run and judge their own music competitions. Read below to learn important details

Competition Hosts
You need to have an H-Lounge account in order to host a competition.

Competition Information

• Title: Choose a title for your competition. Actually try to make it sound interesting. Like, try not to call it "Rock Competition" or "Submit your music". Maybe "Rock me to a pulp" or "The Slopes of Vesuvius" would be better. Or not. What do we know?
  
• Rules: Make your own rules but keep it simple and clear! Not every user of H-Lounge is all that bright...
  
• Starting Date: Competitions will start at 12:00a.m. EST on the date you choose. If you choose today’s date, competition will start immediately upon completion of the competition creation process.
  Duration: You can choose between 3, 7, 14 or 30 days. Competition will automatically close at 11:59p.m. on the last day of the chosen period.
  
• Important Notes: Once confirmed, competition information CANNOT BE CHANGED. H-Lounge reserves the rights, at its sole discretion, to cancel competitions with content that is in any way obscene, defamatory, libelous, threatening or abusive.
  
• Prizes: For Plastic Tier competitions (see table below), no prizes will be awarded. Winner will be listed on the Current Competitions page.

For the other tiers, Loungecake prizes and winner icons will be awarded as shown in the table below.

Competition hosts will be granted a Loungecake bonus of 10% of the Loungecake amount selected for the competition’s winner.

Competition Tiers

Judges
The competition host is automatically the judge for the competition.
The host can invite guest judges by entering their screen name in the fields provided during the competition creation process.

Plastic competitions can have up to 2 guest judges. Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond competitions can have up to 10 guest judges.

Guest judges will receive an H-Lounge notification that they have been invited to be judges in a competition. They will need to accept the invitation before their names are listed as judges in the competition announcement. If invitations are rejected, host cannot choose other judges. Invited judges have until the end of the competition duration to accept or decline the invitation.

If no guest judges accept the invitation, the host will be the sole judge in the competition.

Entrants
Entrants must have an H-Lounge account. All H-Lounge members are eligible to submit music, except for the host and judges of a given competition. 

If the competition's rules, as defined by the host, offer any eligibility limitations, it's up to the host of the competition to judge and disqualify submission that don't apply.

If there are not entrants at the end of a given competition, no winner will be announced and the competition can not be extended or restarted. No award will be given to the host.

Judging System
The competition host and guest judges will have access to the competition's judge zone. The URL to that page will be provided by H-Lounge.

While the competition is open, host and guest judges will be able to preview the entries on the judging page. Only the host will have the ability to disqualify entries that don’t obey the competition’s rules.

When the competition is closed, host and judges will receive an H-Lounge message to inform that they can now vote. They will be able to vote in the judge zone. Host and judges will have 48 hours from the closing time of the competition to enter their votes.

At the end of the 48-hour period, all votes will be counted, the winner will be announced, and prizes will be distributed, where applicable.

In case of a tie or in case no votes are entered, the LoungeBot will be the tie-breaker. This situation should be avoided, as the LoungeBot does not have very good taste in music.

Payment
Payment for Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond Tier competitions are made by credit card through H-Lounge’s secure connection.

Payment for the “Create your Own Competition” feature IS NOT REFUNDABLE.
